Dark as a dungeon by mattsteinglass

The Guardian reports that according to an organization called “Reprieve”, the US admits to currently holding 23,000 people in secret prisons. In other words, the number of people the US is currently disappearing into secret prisons is greater than the entire prison population of, say, the Netherlands, and is about 40% as large as the entire prison population of France.

Is there any prospect of getting this situation back under control once it’s gone so utterly and completely insane?
